For many years have I envisioned a walking tour through Downtown Auburn that highlights the numerous public artworks, including signature community mosaics, murals, banners and sculptures that beautify our downtown and make it unique. A few years ago, all the pieces finally came together and now I am happy to introduce the Auburn Public Art Trail – a healthy activity that you can enjoy whenever you are out and about downtown.
I was successful in securing a grant from the Columbian Foundation for the realization of my long-envisioned Auburn Public Art Trail. In partnership with the Downtown Auburn BID and several local businesses I managed the implementation of this community project, including the creation of a logo, a walking map and a website with an interactive map to guide residents and visitors from mosaics to murals and sculptures. After the official unveiling, the feedback has been very positive and encouraging and I am already thinking about ways to grow this initiative.
