community projects

You have seen mosaic installations around town and wondered what they were about? You have driven by Meyer Bookbinding and could have sworn a real person was leaning against the painted door? You have noticed the banner on the city parking garage and couldn’t figure out what it depicts? Don’t despair! Your answers are only a click away at

For many years have I envisioned a walking tour through Downtown Auburn that highlights the numerous public artworks, including signature community mosaics, murals, banners and sculptures that beautify our downtown and make it unique. A few years ago, all the pieces finally came together and now I am happy to introduce the Auburn Public Art Trail – a healthy activity that you can enjoy whenever you are out and about downtown.

I was successful in securing a grant from the Columbian Foundation for the realization of my long-envisioned Auburn Public Art Trail. In partnership with the Downtown Auburn BID and several local businesses I managed the implementation of this community project, including the creation of a logo, a walking map and a website with an interactive map to guide residents and visitors from mosaics to murals and sculptures. After the official unveiling, the feedback has been very positive and encouraging and I am already thinking about ways to grow this initiative.
